| Summary of Water Service Rates |
Valencia Water Company (VWC) has two primary types of water rates: General Metered Services, which covers homes and businesses, and Private Fire Services, which comprises sprinkler systems and fire hydrants on private property. Additionally, beginning May 2003, VWC also provides recycled water to qualified customers where available. The applicable rates have been recreated below for your convenience. VWC believes this information is an accurate representation of our water rates, but it does not take the place of the official and effective tariffs on file with the CPUC. |
| General Metered Services |
Applicable to all metered water services for which no special rates are available. |
Monthly Service Charge |
This is a readiness-to-serve charge, which is applied to all General Metered Service accounts. It is based on meter size, and is added to the consumption charge. |

To offset the increase in Purchased Water from Castaic Lake Water Agency to $420 per acre-foot, effective January 1, 2010, a surcharge of $.232 per 100 cu. ft. is to be added to the Quantity Rate. |
Public Utilities Commission Surcharge |
This surcharge applies to all water bills rendered under all tariff rate schedules authorized by the Commission, with the exception of resale rate schedules where the customer is a public utility. |
In 1982 the Legislature established the Public Utilities Commission Reimbursement Fee to be paid by utilities to fund their regulation by the Commission, Public Utilities (PU) Code Section 401-443. The surcharge to recover the cost of that fee is ordered by the Commission under authority granted by the PU Code Section 433. |
A 1.5% surcharge shall be added to all customer bills. |
Private Fire Service |
Applicable to all private fire services and private fire hydrants. |
Monthly Service Charge |
This is a readiness-to-serve charge, which is applied to all Private Fire Service accounts. It is based on meter size. Private Fire Services are not charged for consumption. |

Water Consumption Charges

Per Hundred Cubic Feet (CCF) at 5% above the amount billed to Valencia Water Company by Castaic Lake Water Agency. Currently at $1.12.

Low-Income Ratepayer Assistance (LIRA) Program |
Valencia Water Company now offers a discount to qualifying low-income residential customers who receive water through a 1-inch or smaller meter. If your household qualifies for a discount on your electric or gas bill under the CARE program, you may also qualify for a discount on your water bill in the amount of 50% of the monthly service charge. |
